Welcome to my website!

hi, i'm Eve! welcome to my online clutter receptacle. i coded everything you see here. i spent a fukton of time on this... anyway, i've been making websites since 2014. this website is inspired by neocities and old-web aesthetics. i'm a graduate of a computer science program at a random Canadian college, now i'm up to whatever i want to do. right now, i'm in the process of building this website & other fun tidbits. Also, prepare for scrolls! this website loves scrolls. Additionally, the layout is rather meticulously crafted. If something doesn't look right, try refreshing. If something is wonky, please let me know! grrr. ^-^

Erm, What the helly?

More about my website...

This creation of this website began in December of 2024, taking inspiration largely from old web design. Originally, it was intended to be a portfolio website to showcase my development projects and has now shifted into a personal expression of myself on the internet.

Curious about the credits of resources on my website? To view the sources for Fonts, Images, Art, Widgets, Libraries/Plugins and others, please visit the credits page.

I will do my best to reference as much as possible, please contact me if I miss any credits or if you want your material to be credited or removed. There is a lot going on, so please bear with me!

My website is mobile and small-screen device friendly and it features dynamic scripts and extensive styling. It's currently a work in progress and still in development.

This site should be usable on any screen size, desktop and mobile, and should work in all browsers. I've put a lot of effort into making it as accessible as possible for anyone, with/without disability. I've been following a few resources to help me get there:

Accessibility Resources:
Accessible Net Resources Directory
Accessibility Evaluation Tool:
WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool

I want to continue focus on the following:

  • Acceptable presentation of header, nav, main, footer, navigation.
  • Optimization for screenreaders, including alternative texts for important images.
  • Ability to navigate the website with a keyboard exclusively
  • Usability when zoomed-in (up to 200% on desktop)
  • Site is functional on screens as small as 800x600 at least.
  • Site is functional on screens as small as 370xXXX.
  • Moving/flashing elements are completely hidden for users with the browser preference "reduce motion"
  • Site uses alt text and captions where needed, and text is screenreader friendly.
  • Site uses scaleable units such as rem/em instead of fixed px units for font sizes.
  • Site has proper color contrast in its structure, backgrounds, text, and links, as well as conveying information clearly in more ways than just by color.
  • Reduced resources on page-load (to make the site more accessible to those with a limited Internet connection)
  • Dark mode availability
  • Readable Font toggle
